More blur photography with flash; this time in the backyard. I will likely use the first one as one of two photos required for our next assignment which is to photograph a moving subject with and without blur.
This shoot was fun. The dogs were going crazy and running around the backyard. I just sat there and tried to keep focused on them. (Click on photos for larger versions.)

I love the first one, maybe it’s because of the ball prop. The dogs look like they had a blast!

Thanks. I like the stop-focus on her face and the toy. It was just what I wanted. The specular highlight in her eye finishes the photo nicely.

Nice images, although the last one has something of the sinister about it.

Isn’t it interesting what the viewer brings to every photograph! If you knew Buddy and Nina, you’d know how much they love each other and totally delight in playing together. Thanks for you kind words.

It wasn’t a negative comment, believe me. I guess knowing the dogs gives the image a different aspect, but if you don’t, and took it out of context (the one image on its own), it looks like an attack, rather than play.

Those are awesome, especially the first one. As someone who typically abhors anything not sharp, I do like the conveyance of motion in those pictures. I will have to look back on my hawk pictures, the ones I discarded as not worthy of publication, and see if there are “accidental” shots that accomplish the same.
well done.

These were done by stopping down the exposure a bit and using 2nd curtain sync flash. And being really, really quick!

I forgot to say . . . the first one is especially awesome. The eye has it.
