Our small town now has a grant-funded computer center that offers free computer classes and lab time to the community. Sweetie and I volunteer in the center teaching basic computer skills and desktop applications. He’s on duty on Wednesday nights and I take Saturday mornings.

I’m here

I’m down in southern California for the weekend. Dad is recovering from surgery to remove his left foot. He came through the surgery well, and the physical therapist is working him hard.  We hope that he progresses quickly and gets into his first prosthetic in six weeks or so.  In the meantime, plans are afoot to remodel his tiny bathroom to make access easier for him.

I hope to get to the ocean on this trip. You all know how successful I’ve been at that on previous visits!

I learned to ride a bike on this street – back when those palm trees were not much taller than the cars parked at the curb.

Buried Horseshoes

Ya know, if we’d put the horseshoe pit in our backyard, it might have gotten some use.   Out of sight, out of mind.  Maybe I can talk Sweetie into relocating it this summer.
