A little fun with the daffodils that have blossomed in the backyard.

We decided on Thursday to extend Sweetie’s stay through Monday to help his mom with other items on the “to do” list. I came home yesterday. Good thing Sweetie stayed behind. While I was on layover in SFO, father-in-law slipped away. Sweetie’s mom and he had ten years together and he took her to every part of the globe. He adored her, and she him. She looked after him always, and was an unwavering caregiver to the very end.
Sweetie, Brother and Sister-in-Law and I took some “us” time last night. We sat in a cabana at the Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian hotel (the oldest hotel on Waikiki Beach), enjoyed our drinks, talked, laughed, and of course, enjoyed the sunset.
We weren’t the only ones . . .
Building sand castles
Sailboats and a lone surfer
Watchers and photographers

Running errands, clearing out junk and packing boxes doesn’t leave much time for seeing the sights, but here is the view from around the neighborhood.
There is a reason why people want to live here…
Sweetie and I are in Hawaii right now with his brother and wife to assist his mom in packing up a part of her household items. Her husband is in the last months of his life and we are having to go through things to toss, keep, donate. Good family time, but trying. Still Sweetie and I managed to get to the beach yesterday. Not sure when we’ll be able to get back though.

One of my favorite things to do when I shoot! My submission for this week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge.
