This is so difficult. Obviously these kids are being taken advantage of and are losing out on education, childhood, etc. The other hand is that they are keeping many of these families in food. Poverty is the problem, not just the way kids are treated.

Indeed, it is the poverty that is at issue. I think that is well illustrated in the quotes Steve McCurry selected for this photo essay.
