Winter leaves

I shot this in the parking lot of a local shopping mall. I pulled out all the color but the orange and yellow of the leaves, applied a couple of filters, and here you go.

You might call them weeds – Updated

I call them blessed relief.

Smoke Trails

Last night I met with three other members of my photography group to shoot smoke trails. It was the first time I’ve ever done it. Aside from nearly getting smoked out of our leader’s garage studio, we had a great time.  The first two were shot using my Speedlite. The others were shot using Michael’s studio strobe (after Susan let me use one of her Pocket Wizards).

Weekly Photo Challenge: Color – Orange

This week’s photo challenge is color. I’m going with orange. Or at least until I go through some of my red ones. Or blue ones. Or, or, or . . .

Should I have saved this one for Halloween?

Photo taken the weekend before Election Day while I was out walking a precinct in Fernley, Nevada.  I loved how the owners had tricked out their lawn.
