Little Birds

I took these photographs while looking out from our lanai in Hawaii.  The finches are a little hard to see. Can you find them?

There are four in this photo. . .

But not in this one . . .

Incoming!!  Looks like the fella on the left may have a contender for the lovely lady’s affections.

Oooh! Her head has been turned!

But not for long . . .

Someone new swoops in  . . .

Handsome!

Island Canary (aka Atlantic Canary)

Silhouetted bird . . .

Definitely not from the finch family . . .

Color

For those of you who think I’ve abandoned color.

A portion of Honolulu… You can see Hawaii’s state bird over there in the upper right corner.

Meanwhile, back in Kailua . . .

After the rain

On my last full day in Hawaii, I grabbed my camera and stepped out the front door after one of the many rains we had. Sweetie is coming home tonight. The critters and I have missed him very much.

Sunset in Waikiki

Sweetie, Brother and Sister-in-Law and I took some “us” time last night. We sat in a cabana at the Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian hotel (the oldest hotel on Waikiki Beach), enjoyed our drinks, talked, laughed, and of course, enjoyed the sunset.

We weren’t the only ones . . .

The Neighborhood

Running errands, clearing out junk and packing boxes doesn’t leave much time for seeing the sights, but here is the view from around the neighborhood.

There is a reason why people want to live here…

Working Vacation

Sweetie and I are in Hawaii right now with his brother and wife to assist his mom in packing up a part of her household items. Her husband is in the last months of his life and we are having to go through things to toss, keep, donate. Good family time, but trying. Still Sweetie and I managed to get to the beach yesterday. Not sure when we’ll be able to get back though.
