Faux Wall
I’m experimenting with creating backdrops. I put this one together quickly after dinner last night. It is about a yard and a half of striped fabric and a baseboard to simulate a wall. Issues: getting the fabric not to pucker or drape. I’ve got ideas on how to remedy this in the future.
Bibi has proved useful…
Snoopy was pulled onto my set.
Buddy was a bit more reluctant, but I managed to pull this one off.
On my next test, I’ll be sure to iron the backdrop.
Model Shoot: Natalie
Throw-Back Thursday?
Kind of!

The glamorous life of a model
Candid during a portrait class at Jeff Ross’ studio last Wednesday night.
Girls’ Night Out
As many of you know, our daughter is getting married (next Saturday!). Her bridal shower was last Saturday, but it was not a “typical” one. Daughter eschewed gifts and opted instead for a girls’ night out. We got pampered at a local nail salon, Soak, followed by a price conscious dinner. I took the liberty of reserving the studio at Hatch for a little post-supper fun.
There are props at the studio . . .
We had a lot of fun . . .
I did mention the props right? Ali took one look at the headdress and rethought her decision to go veil-less.
We took a little time for some individual shots too.

And finally, a portrait I’ve been wanting for a long time . . .
Model Shoot: Pheenix
Readers may remember the lovely Pheenix. She was one of the models from a portrait class I took last May. She and I have stayed in contact and about a week ago she approached me to do another shoot. We had fun last Wednesday night at Hatch Reno. I’ll be posting more from this shoot in the coming days.

#1 rule at a shoot with me: If you bring a flowing, chiffon dress, I will ask you to leap!

Another one I like.
