Weekly Photo Challenge: Mine (and Day 276)
This week’s photo challenge is “Mine.” There isn’t much I consider mine. Not really.
I have possessions, but all of them can be swept away at any time.
The bank still owns this.
There are fleeting moments I wish were “mine.”
We have creatures who share our lives . . . but are they mine?
The way she orders me around, there is no way she’s “mine.”
This one lets me share “her” bed.
She turned me into a middle-aged woman with a little dog, but Miss “You have to wrestle me to the ground to clip my nails” is not mine.
My loyal boy is not “mine” either.
Fruit of my womb, and I’ll love her until the end of time, but definitely not “mine.”
Love of my Life. We said, “I do,” but we don’t own each other. We share our lives.
There is just one thing that is really and truly mine.
Me.
Day 274 – Studio Lighting
I spent most of the day finishing up my Reno Air Races photo gallery (I will post more tomorrow). I also spent a little time practicing basic studio lighting. While I was at it, I tried out a pose I read about at Digital Photography School.
If the Reno Air Races ever comes calling, at least I’ve got a decent head shot.
Set up: Key light to camera left at a 45 degree angle and above my head. Fill light to camera right at same 45 degree angle at 1/3 intensity. Nothing fancy.
Day 273 – Kooky Doggie
More Air Race Photos – B&W
A few more photographs from the Reno Air Races that I processed in black and white. I’ve still got more to work on and will keep posting them as I can.
Program sellers.
Munching down a teriyaki bowl.
Running the gauntlet of Box Seat Security.
Color guard.
Pit pass ticket sales.
Leaving the box seat area.
Day 266 – Not a great day
It started out pretty good. I’d been working on my Air Races photos a good part of the morning, but when I caught sight of the overcast skies I thought, “Great light for shooting outside and trying out my new 85mm lens!” So I headed out to the backyard, camera in hand, and stepped into a hold in the lawn (a hole dug long ago by our beloved, Daisy, which comes back to bite us on occasion). I twisted my ankle pretty badly and heard a crunch as I fell. While still on the ground I shot a couple of photos of Nina.
Yes, I realize what she’s doing, but Look At The Light! She looks spectacular!
Then I tried to walk it off and shot a couple of more.
Then I moved in on Buddy who was laying out on the deck, and for all his sweetness, couldn’t have cared less that Mom was in pain.
The only excitement I got out of him was when he heard Sweetie’s car pull into the driveway.
Then I tried icing my foot, but that wasn’t helping. In fact, the pain got worse, so off we headed to (the inappropriately named) Urgent Care. We had to go to Sparks as the x-ray tech in Fernley had called in sick. Lots and lots of waiting. Hours worth, in fact. No broken bones, just badly sprained.
They gave me an Air Cast, but it hurt more than it helped, so I took matters into my own hands.
