I’ve been off for the past week and the pups have gotten quite used to my presence. They are in for a bit of a rude awakening today.

New Lens
After reading the reviews and seeing real live examples of what this lens can do, I took the leap and purchased a Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM. It arrived midday yesterday and I had to take it out for a spin. I am in love.
Nevada
Nevada is a nursing student at UNR and a transplant from a farm in upstate New York. She is a wonderful young woman. She approached me a few days ago about doing a shoot with her and as I had some ideas I wanted to try out, it was a perfect collaboration. We spent about an hour and a half in the natural light studio yesterday, and I’m quite pleased with the results. Here are just a couple.
Waiting
Last Saturday I had the honor being the official photographer for the 4th Annual Ride for RAVE. Northern Nevada RAVE Family Foundation exists to “provide respite for families with special needs children while training high school volunteers to work with these very special children.” (link)
It was a beautiful autumn day and, of course, I took a LOT of photographs and am up to my eyebrows getting them processed and uploaded to the gallery. Here is just one. More to come.

An Autumn Walkabout
Some photos from a short walk I took the other day. I often go to this place and seem to find something interesting each time I do.
