Dreaming of the Open Sea

Alongside our house, on the other side of the backyard fence, sits Sweetie’s Hobie Cat, a small sailboat he has owned since he was a young man. Unfortunately, we haven’t had the boat on any water since 1997, and since we’ve moved here in 2001 the boat has been at the mercy of the elements. It’s hull has a hole that needs repair, and it’s trampoline is shredded from the harsh Nevada sun and wind.  The chances of it ever being sea-worthy again are slight. One of these days, Sweetie is going to call someone to haul it away.
