We’ve had some very strange weather lately. Humidity in the 40 percent range, and now, rain. Go figure. Not complaining, really. We need the precipitation and if we can’t get it in the winter, I’ll take it now.
I woke up at 3:30 in the morning to the sounds of a huge downpour, so after I got up for good I stepped out into the backyard to see if I could find any remnants of the moisture. While the grass was a bit damp, no evidence of the early morning storm was to be seen.
Still, the hibiscus was blooming . . .
and the grapes were starting to ripen.
Buddy napped one minute . . .
. . . and hoped to see a rabbit the next.
And while I was processing these photos, rain!

We’ve been watching heavy rains go around us for the past few weeks . . . we could use the moisture.

That is usually the case in my town. Clouds and rain all around us, and none here. I hope you all get some needed precip soon.

Beautiful photos. I miss the hibiscus from Hawaii. We have just gotten a few sprinkles today – nothing to speak of yet. We’re hoping to get some moisture to alleviate the fire danger.

The hibiscus is always the last to “green” and flower and just about the time I think I’m going to take it out, it gives me memories of my youth. It stays. 🙂

Nice shots. Buddy sure looks like he’s ready for anything to cross his path. I really dig the shots of the rain.

Thanks, spiderpaw! Buddy is actually our mellow dog, but like Nina, he has his hyper-alert moments. He takes his job of guarding the house seriously. Every dog needs a job, ya know?
