Actually, I find the dried thistles far more interesting than the purple ones. When they dry they all seem to take a shape of their own, whereas the ‘fresh’ ones all seem to look the same. Kind of like getting older, huh?
These are beautiful. I love the effect on the first one. It’s hot and dry here, too. No rain for weeks. We’re supposed to have thunderstorms this weekend which won’t be good for the fire situation. We can only hope we get a lot of rain with the thunderstorms.
Same here. We’ve got clouds in the skies and threats of thunderstorms for the next few days. So far, not much of either, just a tad muggy . . . something we are not used to at all and which really knocks down the effectiveness of the swamp cooler.
it is beautiful for nature is the finest craftsman

Really nice shots. Love the first one in particular: the tight focal point, soft background, and colors are beautiful.

Thanks, Melanie. I really like that one too. 🙂

My favorite it the third photo; you’ve focused on the dry and dead, not the living and bright. I like that you’ve found beauty in it.

Thank you, Bente. I struggle a lot with our barren and brown landscape, so when I find something beautiful or interesting, I do my best to capture it.
