On Frozen Pond

I stopped by duck pond today.  We’ve had sub-freezing temps for several weeks, with very little respite, and the pond is mostly frozen over.

Freezing fog made for some pretty pogonip.

Day 361 – A bit of snow

It’s wickedly cold and expected to get colder.  We had a winter storm blow through last night which dropped about 2-3 inches (though not as much in my neighborhood). The roads are icy and given it’s a slow week at work (all of my bosses are out of the office), I’ve gotten dispensation to work from home. Earlier today I took a few minutes outside with my camera to capture the snow.

Day 318 – Mini Ice Storm?

I think the sprinklers may have inadvertently come on early this morning.  I thought Sweetie had shut them off for the winter, but I guess not. Anyway, I came out to icicles on the rose bushes which, surprisingly, still have most of their leaves.

My side-garden fence had some icicles too.  I really like this shot.

Day 59 – Snow Caps and Spring

The sun is out and it’s all quite gorgeous, so I took a quick look-see outside my office window.

It is far too early to be seeing green sprouts. Or is it?
