Day 308 – The look of love
Day 277.5 – Just for fun
I’m practicing a lighting technique and Nina was nosing around underfoot. She wanted up in my lap. One thing led to another . . .
Trying to get my face properly lit while Nina scopes out the live view on my laptop..
She is quite the wiggler.
Me checking out the laptop. Nina squirming some more.
Me, trying to avoid “the tongue.”
She got me!
Smooch!
I love this little dog so much!
Day 237 – Fun with Photoshop: Smudge Stick Quickies
It’s been a full day and I didn’t get home until nearly 9 tonight. So I grabbed my camera and flash and snapped a few of the dogs. Though the originals shots were fine, I added a Smudge Stick filter to them in Photoshop, just for fun. It is subtle, but there is more pop and contrast.
Day 231 – It’s feeling a bit tropical around these parts
We’ve had some very strange weather lately. Humidity in the 40 percent range, and now, rain. Go figure. Not complaining, really. We need the precipitation and if we can’t get it in the winter, I’ll take it now.
I woke up at 3:30 in the morning to the sounds of a huge downpour, so after I got up for good I stepped out into the backyard to see if I could find any remnants of the moisture. While the grass was a bit damp, no evidence of the early morning storm was to be seen.
Still, the hibiscus was blooming . . .
and the grapes were starting to ripen.
Buddy napped one minute . . .
. . . and hoped to see a rabbit the next.
And while I was processing these photos, rain!
Day 210 – This and That
On the good side, the Olympics are fun to watch. On the bad side, Dad is back in the hospital and what’s going on is pretty scary. I don’t know if I’ll be hopping a plane soon or not.
Anyway, I played with my new toy in the backyard this morning using the silver reflector and diffuser panel to provide fill light against some pretty bright backgrounds. I used my flash to fill in what otherwise would have been dark shadows cast by the morning sun.
Sweetie left his work gloves in the wheelbarrow and a windstorm blew them out into the yard. We think Nina did this.
Grape leaves against the sky. I love that I didn’t blow out the sky and that the grape leaves in the shade were perfectly exposed.
Buddy is a bit camera-shy sometimes. He’ll sit still, but he doesn’t like to look at me when I’m holding the camera to my face.
