Another photo from my “Nina shoot” a couple of days ago. She’s conked out next to me right now. Love this little doggy! Now, if I could just get Buddy to pose for me!

Day 237 – Fun with Photoshop: Smudge Stick Quickies
It’s been a full day and I didn’t get home until nearly 9 tonight. So I grabbed my camera and flash and snapped a few of the dogs. Though the originals shots were fine, I added a Smudge Stick filter to them in Photoshop, just for fun. It is subtle, but there is more pop and contrast.
Day 205 – Puppy Portraits
Today was an incredibly busy day. I didn’t stop from 6am until I got home at about 10pm, so I turned to my critters for inspiration tonight. I set up the Speedlite, grabbed a reflector card and got Nina to “sit” on her blanket. She did good.
All were shot at 400 ISO, f/5.6, 1/15 sec. Speedlite behind me to camera left, reflector card (white poster board in the vise) very close to Nina on the right and just out of frame.

Day 192.5 – We have to leave them for a while
Tomorrow morning we’ll be heading out the door for five days. They’ll be in good hands, but we’ll miss them. I got my to-dos done earlier than I thought so I pulled out my Speedlite and my reflector umbrella and set them up on the light stand. The cats were nowhere to be found, but the pups were available.
The heat of the day (100+ degrees today) had taken its toll on Buddy, and our big boy wasn’t interested in doing anything but lay out on the carpet.
Nina gave me a little more as she worked hard on the Nylabone, which as you can see, is about as big as she is!
Day 176 – I’d rather post these
I’ve been up to my eyeballs working on the photo gallery for the baby shower I went to yesterday. The gallery is here, if you’d like to take a peek. The father-to-be is our nephew, so this was a family affair and then some.
Therefore, I haven’t had a chance to go out with the camera, and rather than post something less than, I’m going to post some more photos I took yesterday. Hope you don’t mind.
Jezebel. I was playing with aperture priority and set my camera to f/5.6 at 100 ISO. The camera set the shutter speed to 1/15s. I also had the flash on, so Jezzie came out blurry except for her eyes. I kind of like it!
Nina – giving me her “look.”
Grandma and Grandson (My mother-in-law and our nephew) at yesterday’s shower.
Mother and Son at yesterday’s shower.
Roses for Michelle, from Matt.
Day 154 – Playtime
I just played with my camera today, mostly shooting in the backyard.
Here’s a great one I got of Nina stalking the wild lizards in the backyard. They like to hang out in the lilac bushes and Nina walks her patrol hoping one will slip out.
Whee!!!
After supper I played with second-curtain sync on my flash. Nina again.
Day 146 – Morning coffee with a new friend
My sister-in-law and nephew arrived yesterday afternoon. Everyone except me trooped over to the hospital to visit Dad and then run some errands. I stayed at the house with Ta-Shi and brother’s family pup, Lo, who is as cute as a bug, but much more inquisitive and puppyish than Ta-Shi. She greeted me this morning and joined me on the side patio for my morning coffee.
