Healthy and Happy

As many of you know, Nina’s had a couple of health issues, the most frightening being a malignant tumor in her nether regions.  So far, though, she’s doing great and is as sweet as ever.  Her hospitalization required her wearing the cone of shame for two weeks, which precluded her sleeping in her crate at night.  Soft touch that I am, I let her sleep with us, and since she was so good (stayed put and didn’t wander around the house), she’s been allowed to sleep with us ever since. I love her little firm body pressed into mine.

As for me? I’ve been busy…paid gigs and all.  I promise to post some images soon!

A year of self #62 – To the vet

I took Nina to the vet for surgery on her eye today .  She’s looking rather unhappy as she had to be fasted and was wondering why the heck mom hadn’t fed her before going for a R-I-D-E.

A year of self #58 – Cuddles

I took the day off today to take Nina to the vet. She’s got a cherry eye (link) that hasn’t resolved itself, so I figured she would need to get it surgically repaired, just as we had to do six years ago with her other eye. Our vet concurred and we set the appointment for Nina’s surgery.  Aside from one shot she received today, the trip was pretty painless for Nina, which is more than I can say it will be for my checkbook next Tuesday.

Maya looks on from her perch on the t.v. room sofa.

Red, Gray, and Blue

A couple of shots of the critters from this past weekend while testing out my Gary Fong Lightsphere Universal flash diffuser.  I think I’ve finally found the perfect modifier for my flash.  Look how soft that light is! All were taken with the  flash on camera. (gasp!!)

I liked the Universal so much, I’ve gone ahead and purchased the Lightsphere® Collapsible™ G5 Lighting Kit: Fashion & Commercial. Can’t wait to take it through its paces and really learn the ins and outs of the system.
