Day 58 – Dreary Day

It snowed all day.  The sky remained a white-gray  so the light didn’t make an optimal day for taking pictures.

The temps hovered in the mid-30s all day and as such it was just warm enough to prevent any accumulation. This view from my office window  remained unchanged from 8am until 5pm.

Nonetheless, I ventured out to try to capture the snow on the bench outside the employee entrance. With no wind, and flakes that were delicate and tiny, the snow clung to every tree branch regardless of size, every blade of grass, and every ridge no matter how slight. It was quite lovely and in this shot I tried to catch how the snow accumulated on the ridges of the bench. Unfortunately, it just didn’t come out the way I’d hoped. Oh well, can’t win’em all.

Day 45 – Trader Joe’s Flowers

Our receptionist  always seems to have a vase full of flowers at her desk.  This afternoon I was about to step outside to wander the grounds and shoot, but I couldn’t resist these colorful beauties. She told me she’d picked them up at Trader Joe’s and had told her husband to save himself $80. Gotta love it!

Day 39 – Too busy to sleep

It’s after 1 in the morning and I have to be up in about three hours. Yes, it’s been one of those days.  I’ve been reshooting my second lighting project all night, so all I managed to snap off for The Project was my desk calendar and the tickets and prizes for our employee meeting today. Better pickings tomorrow. Promise! Off to bed now.

Day 34 – Indoors and Out

I got tired of fiddling with this:

So I went outside. How I love it that while the gardeners keep the lawn mowed and the leaves blown, they pretty much leave the wild vegetation in a natural state. Otherwise they would have weed-whacked this lovely away.

Day 26 – Froggie is in love

Doesn’t he look like he is head over heels? But she appears to want nothing of it.

I collect frogs and some of them have migrated to my office, so I decided to play with a couple of them today.  I made a tiny light studio in my office to. I leaned a sheet of white paper in the window sill so that it provided backdrop and floor and had some fun. Daylight through my west-facing office window (camera right) provided the majority of the  light (office lights were on as well). It was cloudy so there were no harsh shadows.
