Day 349 – Holiday Party
We held our company holiday party last night. It’s a chance for us to dress up, relax (and cut loose) and basically have a good time with our co-workers outside the constraints of work. This is Delbert, who serves on the events committee with me. He and his wife, Lisa, were teammates with my husband and me on our company bowling league. Unfortunately, that league was Del’s last hurrah at bowling since he managed to finally blow out his bad knee towards the end of the league. He hobbled through the next few weeks, and a couple of months later underwent surgery to fix it.
Del asked me to get a shot of him for his daughter and I happily obliged. He’s a super guy and I think his personality really comes out in this shot.
Susan is our receptionist extraordinaire, with more energy than I thought it possible for any human to have.
She and her husband sharing a moment on the dance floor.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get as many photos of the festivities as I had hoped. I thought I had extra AA batteries in my bag for my flash but they turned out to be AAAs (grrr). So when my flash gave up the ghost, my camera got put away and that was that for the night. Lesson learned!
Day 348 – Foosball
Busy day at work, and then I had a meeting immediately after work at the Irish pub where our Freethinkers group will be holding our first annual Festivus Party and Food Drive on the 22nd. After the meeting I grabbed my iPhone to try to get today’s photo.
The foosball table in the corner caught my eye.
Day 347 – Christmas Tree Bokeh
Just one more: Mariya in Black & White
This is the last one I will post. If you want to see the rest of them, the gallery can be found at this link.
Day 346 – Mariya 2
A couple more from our shoot on Sunday. Yes, I realize I’m breaking my own rule, but it’s late and I need to get to bed.
In this one her face is lit by sun filtered through the trees. That’s it.
In the shade with ambient light and flash through white umbrella about 45 degrees camera right.
Holy cow. Just twenty days to go.
Day 345 – Party Favors
Our company’s Holiday Party is this Friday night. As a member of the events committee, I’m part of the planning and logistics. Today I worked on sticking labels on 375 tiny boxes of candy. One will be placed at each guest’s place setting. We are expecting 300 people to attend. The extras will go into Santa’s Workshop, a special room we set up every year for employees to wrap their holiday gifts for free.
Thank you!
200 followers! You humble me.
