Panic!

I bought a new camera bag and as I was transferring my gear I noticed that my back-up battery was nowhere to be seen.  Every place I’ve looked online can’t get me a replacement until well after my shoot this weekend. I’ll be heading to Gordon’s today with my fingers crossed.

  1. I’m surprised Amazon does not have it available with overnight shipping.

That said, can you borrow one from people in your class? How about your instructor?

If not a battery, I would try to borrow a backup camera.

The other alternative is to rent a back-up camera . . . better yet, time to upgrade and buy a brand new one.

All that said, my battery usually lasts quite a while. Never checked for sure, but probably in the 500+ shots (likely more). If you have VR, you might want to switch it off to conserve battery juice.

    Good luck.

  2. And yeah, my battery generally lasts quite a while, but I wanted to make sure I had a back-up, especially for Saturday, which will be a long day. I’m also not sure how many of my shots will be with flash, and that will suck some of the juice as well.
